Hey music fans, Jordan here! I’m here to give you my throwback picks of the week. My taste in music ranges anywhere from 60’s and 70’s Soul Town to 2000’s pop hits. You’re gonna get a weird range from me here. Be prepared to reminisce on some of the greatest oldies from every genre!

For my inaugural pick, I’m gonna go with some classics that EVERYONE knows the words to…

Closing Time – Semisonic

From the ‘Feeling Strangely Fine’ album, this song is the anthem for bars everywhere to signal to all the drunks that its time to go. What song played as we closed our tabs before this hit? The world may never know. A lot of people think that this song was by 3rd Eye Blind (looking at you Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis) but Semisonic released the hit in 1998.

Wonderwall – Oasis

This song was one of THE anthems for the 90’s and even now is still a classic on any karaoke machine. It’s even often able incite the entire audience to sing along.

Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down – Fall Out Boy

So I had almost forgotten this song existed until I found it on a karaoke list a few weeks ago. So OBVIOUSLY I made my girlfriends sing it. Pretty sure none of us actually needed the words, we knew them by heart. This is a great head-banging song for white girls who want to act like their punk rockers…. aka me in 2005 and me in the car alone now. Side note we just need to acknowledge the music video for this throwback because the human with antlers most definitely gave me nightmares as a child.
