MXR Innovations were founded and incorporated in 1974 in New York (USA), as one of the most esteemed guitar pedal manufacturers in the industry, they are now owned by Jim Dunlop – another recognizable brand in the guitar world, yet they still produce outstanding and innovative products. A highlight of this magnificent collaboration is the MXR MC404 CAE Dual Inductor Wah guitar pedal.
It’s basically like two wah pedals in one (which make it a true “wah wah”) which is quite an impressive feat on its own, the inductors are complemented with a switch on the pedal’s side allowing you to select which inductor you want to use, and a LED light indicating which mode is currently selected. The pedal’s side also features a tiny boost knob that goes up to 18 dB, the masterpiece’ fine qualities are backed up with True Bypass – zero interference when not engaged.

This versatile pedal, as its name clearly states, dominantly separates itself from its competition by featuring two separate Fasel inductors, each designed to give a different kind of breathtaking tone. The first is designed to give you quite a deep, warm and lush wah tone, the second inductor on the other side, provides more of a classic wah tone, which doesn’t go as low, as it maintains a nice high-end signal with excellent responsiveness.
