PreSonus Temblor T10 Review – Beastly Power for Professional Studios

Today we are taking a look at a simple but very effective monitoring subwoofer from PreSonus – the Temblor T10. The word temblor may mean a surface-level vibration caused by an earthquake, although there is nothing shaky about the performance of this subwoofer! In fact, it proves one of our favorites on our chart of the best studio subwoofers. Let’s take a closer look!

Design

Off the bat, the Temblor T10 looks great! Whatever your studio setup, this subwoofer will fit in very well aesthetically, as its sleek all-black design goes with pretty much everything. It features an illuminated PreSonus logo, so it will naturally sit very neatly alongside other PreSonus equipment. As with all higher-end offerings from this brand, the build quality on the T10 is excellent. It’s made from a standard MDF with a vinyl cover, and features internal damping and heat sink, as well as integrated rubber feet. Overall, it’s a sturdy chunk of equipment, with a decent size (it’s 15.75” tall and deep, with a width of 12.6”) and a reassuringly heavy weight of around 40lbs. It also comes with plenty of I/O connection options. You have two balanced XLR, two balanced 1/4” TRS, and two unbalanced RCA inputs. Outputs are just as extensive, with two balanced XLR, two balanced 1/4” TRS, and a further balanced XLR for connecting to a second subwoofer.

Features

Under the hood, the Temblor T10 features a single 10” front-firing glass-composite driver with a lightweight but sturdy cone. This gives the subwoofer a huge output, with 250-watts of power available and a frequency response of 20Hz to 200Hz. In terms of controls and versatility, the T10 also features a continuously variable lowpass filter (50Hz to 130Hz), as well as a highpass filter and an input gain control. A bonus is that it also comes with a momentary footswitch to bypass the subwoofer, highpass filter, and Sub Out – this is a priceless addition that professional producers will very much appreciate.

Performance

As noted, the T10 is a very powerful subwoofer with 250 watts of power and the ability to handle a high SPL of up to 113dB. It certainly gives others in its price range a run for their money! But it’s more than just power, as the overall sound is very accurate with exceptional clarity.
